The Ambient Air Temperature Sensor is designed for continuous and accurate monitoring of ambient air temperature in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare and industrial environments. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations, the AA sensor provides reliable temperature measurement for environmental monitoring, process control and building management applications.
Manufactured using high-quality 316 stainless steel components, the sensor is available in robust ABS thermoplastic or die-cast aluminium enclosures, providing excellent durability in demanding operating environments.

Designed for Accurate Air Temperature Measurement
The sensing element is housed within a stainless steel sheath to provide excellent thermal response and long-term stability. For outdoor installations, an optional perforated radiation shield helps minimise the effects of direct sunlight and wind, improving measurement accuracy during changing weather conditions.
Flexible Sensor Options
The AA sensor can be supplied to suit a wide range of applications, including:
- PT100 or PT1000 RTD sensors
- Class B, A or AA accuracy to IEC 60751
- Type T thermocouples
- 3-wire or 4-wire RTD configurations
- Single or duplex sensing elements
- Custom probe lengths and cable configurations
For integration with PLCs, SCADA and Building Management Systems, the sensor can also be supplied with an optional 4–20 mA temperature transmitter.

- All metallic parts in Grade 316L (1.4404/1.4435) stainless steel only.
- Enclosures available in ABS thermoplastic or die-cast aluminium.
- Available with plain stem as standard or perforated to avoid wind chill in outdoor applications
- Available with a temperature transmitter to provide a signal output of 4 to 20mA for transmission to an indicator, recorder, data-logger or other instrumentation.
- Available with cable gland or Lemo connector for quick disconnect.
- Available in PT100 resistance thermometer (all tolerances)
